Our Roads, Our Hills, Our Future

Featured speakers:

  • Metro Councilor Duncan Hwang (District 6), on Metro’s planned transportation projects and Climate Smart Strategy and how they will affect our neighborhood
  • Terri Preeg Riggsby, candidate for District 6 Metro Council, on planning a transportation infrastructure centered on accessibility and safety for all

Meeting agenda:

  • Have concerns about the safety and viability of our streets, bike paths and walkways? Come hear the candidates for Metro Council District 6 share their visions for managing our transportation and infrastructure challenges. They also welcome your views on specific issues you face.
  • Get practical ideas from Rachel Dvorsky of Stormwater Stars on how to manage excess rainfall around the spaces where you live, work, and play, as well as tips on restoring soils and nature-scaping with native plants. Stormwater Stars is a program of Neighbors West Northwest and the Westside Watershed Resource Center, in partnership with West Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District and City of Portland Bureau of Environmental Services.
  • Learn about the pedestrian improvements that SWHRL’s Transportation Committee has helped bring about on Broadway Drive and share your thoughts on the future of Vista Bridge.
  • And, finally, it’s time to elect our 2022-23 SWHRL Board of Directors. We are on the lookout for new directors who can bring diversity and fresh air to our neighborhood association. If you are interested in running, please contact president@swhrl.org.

Hope to see you April 20th!
