Understanding N11 Codes

N11-numbers provide access to special services that are delivered locally within a certain service area. Representatives from some of the following organizations will attend the January 2026 membership meeting to explain their roles in more detail.

211: Community services and information

911: Emergency services (police, fire, ambulance and rescue services) https://www.portland.gov/911/how-use-9-1-1

411 and 611 are commonly used in the United States, but not officially assigned by the Federal Communications Commission.
