Safety and Survival Summit 8/30

On Sunday, August 30 from 1-5pm, SWHRL is co-hosting a Safety and Survival Summit.

This summit is designed to help anyone increase their readiness in the event of a disaster, inclement weather or a major community disruption that requires evacuation or sheltering in place. Please share this opportunity with your networks, neighbors and loved ones to help them acquire tools and skills to promote their personal safety and improve everyone’s chances of survival.

Topics covered will include:

Emergency Preparedness

  • Skills Sharing
  • Go-Bag Building

Earthquake Preparedness

  • Earthquake Simulation Escape Room Sessions
  • Utility Shutoff Tools (while supplies last)

Fire Safety

  • Wildfire Prevention and Firewise Communities
  • Evacuation and Reunification Plans

Public Safety Partnerships

  • Community and Faith Based Groups
  • Government and Industry Partners

Logistics

The Safety and Survival Summit will be held on the street next to Ainsworth at the corner of Vista and Spring. The Vista Bridge closure on August 30 in connection with the Centennial Celebration affords West Hills families, businesses and institutions a chance to plan accordingly in the event that bridge is actually closed for more than a day and the critical evacuation route is not available.
