(988) is live for crisis calls

September is Suicide Prevention Month

September is National Suicide Prevention Month and with the launch of the new 988 Lifeline system, it is great time to learn about how faith and community leaders can address suicide prevention in their community.

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a United States-based suicide prevention network of over 200+ crisis centers that provides 24/7 service via a toll-free hotline with the number 9-8-8. It is available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress

You can also sign up for webinars hosted by the HHS Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, more information is below.

Another way you recognize Suicide Prevention Month is by sharing this National Suicide Prevention Lifeline PSA in your community where HHS Partnership Center Director, Rev. Dr. Que English and Choose Healthy Life (CHL) faith leaders share their lived experiences, address stigma and the address the importance of using the easily accessible 988 Suicide & Crises Lifeline.
