Transportation

The next meeting of the Transportation Committee will be
on Tuesday, January 8th, 7 -9 PM, at Julia’s house, 4045 SW Council Crest Drive. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Recent accomplishments of the Transportation Committee, chaired
by Julia Harris include:
   * All-stop on traffic signals on the I-405 exit ramp and Broadway at 6th to allow
            Broadway Drive cars a chance to enter 6th
   * Speed Reader Boards posted on Vista at Montgomery, Vista at Carter, Broadway Drive
   * Re-striping the center line on Patton near Homar to make the tighter lane wider
   * Raised reflective markers on center and fog lines and signs installed on the curve
           of Humphrey Blvd.
   * Blue “H” sign added at Fairmount and Talbot to direct drivers to OHSU hospitals
   * Pedestrian warning signs (W3210 with S1105 arrow riders) placed on both sides of
           Marquam Hill Road at the trail crossing
   * Bike lane striping on the Vista Drive curves near Montgomery
   * Representation on the Southwest Neighborhoods Inc (SWNI) Transportation Committee

Continuing issues include:
   * Advocating for improved TriMet service
   * Enforcing speed limits, especially on Broadway Drive, Patton Road, Humphrey Blvd,
           and Vista Drive
   * Improving safety on Humphrey Blvd
   * Improving pedestrian safety on Patton Road near Homar
   * Converting ditches to walkable swales
   * Advocating for more walkways/sidewalks
   * Advocating for more bike lanes/bike boulevards
   * Advocating Transportation System Development Charges (TSDC) projects:

       #90031 - Dosch Road bicycle and pedestrian improvements
       #90038 - Humphrey Blvd bicycle and pedestrian improvements
       #90054 - Patton Road bicycle and pedestrian improvements
       #90078 - Schools Ferry multi-modal improvements
